(CLARK) After candidates earned the support to run for election under the slogan ‘Regular Democratic Organization of Union County’ this past Saturday, March 6th, Senator Nick Scutari, Chairman of the Union County Democratic Committee, announces the slate of candidates supported by the Democratic Party for the June Democratic Primary.
“I am proud to say that all of the candidates who participated in our process were given equal consideration, and it was a uniquely strong field across all of our races.” said Senator Scutari. “I
sincerely thank everyone who has stepped forward to volunteer to represent the Democratic Party on
the ballot. Starting with Governor Phil Murphy at the top of the ticket, I believe we have one of our
strongest teams of candidates ever, and I believe this team will work hard for all of Union County and
be victorious in June and November.”
In the 20th District, Senator Joe Cryan and Assemblywoman Annette Quijano are seeking re-election.
They will run alongside former Roselle Mayor, Rev. Reginald Atkins, who will be joining them as a
candidate for the General Assembly.
In the 21st District, Roselle Park Mayor Joseph Signorello III will run for the open Senate seat, alongside Elizabeth Graner, a Rahway public school teacher, and Anjali Mehrotra, the President of the National Organization of Women in New Jersey, as candidates for the General Assembly.
In the 22nd District, Senator Nick Scutari, Assemblyman James Kennedy, and Assemblywoman Linda
Carter were backed for re-election.
Union County’s Commissioner slate will be comprised of Commissioner Chairman Al Mirabella (Fanwood), Commissioner Kim Mouded (Westfield), and longtime Rahway Councilman James
Baker.
New Jersey’s primary elections will take place on Tuesday, June 8th, 2021.
