SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Mayor Chris Weber and Deputy Mayor Alex Keiser unofficially have won re-election to the Springfield Township Committee.
Weber and Keiser prevailed over Republican challengers Jerry Fernandez and Jorge Aparicio. Fernandez formerly served as mayor of the township and was on the Springfield Township Committee from 2010-2012 and 2014-2016.
As of 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, Mayor Weber had received 764 votes, Keiser had 743 votes, and neither Republican challenger had received 500 votes.
Fernandez and Aparicio were both late replacements on the GOP ticket after the husband-and-wife team of David Salcfas and Cindy Salcfas dropped out of the race in September.
