As expected, Senate Democrats today selected Nicholas Scutari, the longtime chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, as the next Senate President.

Union County’s 2021 Gun Amnesty Buyback event was a success, with residents turning in more than 525 unwanted guns in exchange for rewards of as much as $250 per weapon. The countywide event was on Saturday, October 23, at locations in Elizabeth, Plainfield and Westfield.

The Union County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to announce that all residents, from age five on up, are now eligible to receive a vaccine against the COVID-19 virus. Union County has added the 5-11 age group to its ongoing free vaccination program.
